Product details

Fuller Brush Home Maid canisters, models FB-HMP and FBHM, take this black filter cover, part B288-0022. It is the lid over the filter recess, the part you take off at every filter check and clip back on afterwards.

That handling is what finishes it. The catches wear or snap, the plastic cracks at the lever point, and a cover that no longer clips tight lets the filter sit loose in its housing. Air then slips around the edge of the media rather than through it, so fine dust gets past and the canister exhaust starts to smell dusty within a few days of a filter change.

A cover that latches properly holds the filter flat where it belongs. If the media behind it is grey and matted, replace both together and the machine will breathe as it should.
