Returns & Exchanges

Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.

Part 522S is an 8-foot length of galvanized central vacuum tubing, 2 inches outer diameter. MD publishes it as light wall standard stock galvanized tubing in 20 gauge, manufactured and fabricated to ASTM standards, and sells it individually rather than by the bundle.

The zinc coating resists corrosion better than bare steel, which is why metal tubing turns up on exposed runs and in commercial work where plastic is not wanted. It is heavier and more rigid to cut and handle than PVC, so allow more time per joint if it is being added to an otherwise plastic system.

MD supplies matching galvanized fittings for this tubing, including a 90 sweep ell and a 45 ell in 18 gauge. Steel sections join to standard PVC vacuum pipe with couplings and rubber cement, which is how MD specifies its steel firewall section, so a metal length does not commit the whole system to metal. Confirm the outer diameter of the pipe already in your run before ordering.
