Product details
Geared belt for Bissell's C4 Cyclonic Canister power nozzle, sold under the 1233 designation, keeping the attached power foot's brush roll turning at the speed the motor intends. It is cataloged as part 1604992.
Being a geared design running on cogged pulleys, this belt holds a fixed drive ratio rather than slackening off under regular use as an ordinary rubber loop would. When it does fail, the usual cause is a jammed roller, from a wrapped thread or wound hair, forcing the belt to transmit power it cannot physically deliver until a tooth finally shears.
On a canister system, this failure is easy to overlook at first, because the canister's own vacuum motor is completely separate from the power foot's drive and keeps running at full strength regardless. What actually changes is agitation at the floor: the power foot either loses noticeable pulling power on carpet or stops turning outright, while the canister itself still sounds and pulls exactly as it always has.
The same belt is listed for a run of related Bissell canister power feet, including the 2191, 2191U, 2190, 1700, 1701, 1797, 2691, 2692 and 1240. Clear any wound hair or debris from both ends of the brush roll before fitting the replacement, since a roller that binds at all will shear a fresh belt on the same timescale as the one coming out.
