Product details
A geared belt for Bissell PowerLifter uprights, part 1624051. The teeth mesh with the motor pulley and the brush roll instead of relying on friction, so the roll keeps turning at full speed even when it is buried in thick pile.
Geared belts do not slip the way a flat belt does, which is a mixed blessing: they hold on until they do not, and when a tooth strips or the belt snaps the brush stops dead rather than fading. The symptom is sudden — a machine that still pulls air but leaves everything on the carpet, sometimes with a burning smell from the stalled roll.
This belt fits the Bissell 2920, 3409 and 312SW, and goes on without special tools on most units. If the brush roll was seized when the belt failed, clear the wraps from the barrel and check it spins freely before fitting the new belt.
