Geared brush roll for the Beam and Eureka CV280 Advocate power nozzle, part 155222. Its integrated gear takes drive from the nozzle motor directly, so the roll holds speed in deep pile instead of slipping under load.

Two things fail on a geared roll. The bristles wear short, which you see as carpet that no longer lifts and hair that stays put after a pass. Or the gear teeth chip, which you hear as a clatter or a ratcheting noise from the head, and which starts eating the drive belt as well.

Check the gear mesh when you fit the new roll and inspect the belt at the same time, since a damaged roll gear rarely leaves the belt undamaged. Confirm you have the CV280 Advocate nozzle before ordering.
