This original-style flat belt is the replacement drive belt for Hoover Concept and Dial-A-Matic Power Drive upright vacuums. It also doubles as a compatible belt for certain Filter Queen power nozzles, making it a versatile spare to keep on hand. The flat belt links the motor shaft to the brushroll, spinning the agitator that lifts dirt out of carpet pile.
Flat belts gradually stretch and harden, letting the brushroll slip and slow down so carpets aren't cleaned thoroughly. A brushroll that won't spin, or a faint burnt-rubber smell, signals it's time to replace the belt. This fresh belt restores full agitator speed.
