Hoover Convertor Valve Spring

Product details
The convertor valve is what sends airflow either to the floor nozzle or up to the hose and tools, and a spring returns it to position each time you switch. Part 045191 is that spring, for the Hoover U7033.
A weak or broken spring leaves the valve lazy. It sticks part way, or fails to return to the floor setting after you finish with the tools, and suction ends up split between two paths instead of going where you asked for it. The usual complaint is a machine with plenty of motor noise and very little pull at either the nozzle or the hose end.
A new spring restores a crisp, positive change-over. It seats in the convertor mechanism the same way the original did, so no modification is needed. Worth catching early, too: running an upright with the airflow half-diverted works the motor harder than it needs to.
