Part 34355002 is an internal support plate that reinforces the body of the Hoover Guardsman upright, holding the housing rigid around the areas that take the most flex during normal use.
Once the plate cracks or works loose, the housing around it loses some of that rigidity, and the change shows up as extra vibration through the handle, a rattle that was not there before, or components nearby working themselves loose from the added movement. None of that points to the motor, since the fault is in a structural piece rather than anything that spins or wears from friction.
