Product details
Part 2KE0210000 is the motor assembly for the Royal RY4000 and RY4001 backpack vacuums, and the same assembly fits the Hoover C2401 and C2401010.
Backpack motors run continuously through a full shift rather than in short bursts, and the end usually announces itself clearly enough: pickup weakens, the sound turns to a growl or a scream, or a hot electrical odor drifts off the exhaust. The cause is typically worn brushes or bearings that have run dry, and past a certain point the whole assembly is the practical fix rather than one part inside it.
Work with the machine unplugged, and if you are not comfortable opening a mains-powered housing, have someone who is familiar with it handle the swap.
Backpack units see harder use than an upright in the same building, since the motor rarely gets a rest between rooms the way a wheeled machine does when it is carried up and down stairs. That duty cycle is why the motor, rather than the housing or the harness, is usually the first thing to go on these units.
