This nozzle hood cover, part 440002795, is finished in Billowy Blue and fits the Hoover UH70086.
The cover closes over the top of the nozzle assembly, shutting in the parts behind it and finishing off the front of the machine. Once it cracks or comes off entirely, the parts underneath sit exposed, and dust can settle into spaces that are meant to stay closed off from the outside.
The replacement goes on in place of the original with no modification needed. While the cover is off, look over the mounting points it attaches to as well, since a cover that will not stay seated is sometimes a broken mount underneath rather than a fault in the cover itself.
A cover like this is mostly a cosmetic fix, but not purely cosmetic, since a gap left open at the top of the nozzle gives fine dust somewhere to collect. The UH70086 is the model this cover is listed against, so read the data plate on your own machine and match it: covers that look alike in the same color are not always the same mounting shape.
