On the Oreck BK95519 cordless upright the squeegee is a rubber strip across the nozzle, and this retainer, part 430001320, is what holds it there. The retainer does no cleaning itself; it simply keeps the strip pressed flat and square against the floor.
When the retainer cracks or a clip breaks, the strip lifts at one end. Liquid and fine debris slip underneath instead of being drawn into the nozzle, and you get streaking on hard floors and a line of grit left along the edge of each pass. It is easy to blame the squeegee for that when the retainer is at fault.
It fits the Oreck BK95519 and the Hoover CH95519. With the retainer off, check the rubber strip itself for nicks and for a permanent set, because the two parts wear together.
