Product details

This is the small screw that holds the cord retainer on a Hoover WindTunnel upright, sold as part 23149002. It is listed for the CH50010 and a long run of U5-series WindTunnels, the U5140900, U5458900 and U5458910, the U5460900, U5462900, U5467900, U5468900, U5470900, U5471900, U5472900 and U5473900, the U5481900, U5491900 and U5491950, the UH30070, and for the Oreck and Royal UR30075.

Cord retainers rarely break; their screws go missing. The retainer starts to swing loose, the cord pulls straight against the housing instead of being anchored, and there is a rattle on every pass. Left alone, the strain that the bracket was meant to absorb goes into the cord itself.

Thread and length matter more here than they look. A substitute screw out of the parts drawer will either stand proud of the retainer or chew out the boss it threads into, and this one is the correct size for that mount.
