Hoover Slide with Spring - C1627 Cloth Bag

The slide and spring that hold a Hoover cloth bag in place, part 41128007, as used on the C1627 bag assembly. It fits the C1123, the C1431 and C1431-010, the C1631 and C1632, the CH50000, and the Royal CR50075.

The spring is the part doing the work. It keeps constant tension on the slide so the bag stays pulled down onto its mount and sealed while the machine runs. When it tires or breaks, the bag creeps loose during use and dust escapes at the collar, which you see as a grey haze on the outside of the bag or grit on the floor around the machine after a long job.

Since this is a wear item on a vacuum that has usually been in service for years, check the cloth bag itself for pinholes at the same time. A new slide will not seal a bag that has worn through.
