Product details

Bissell built part 1628296 as the hose for the CleanView Compact upright, model 3508, a fit that carries over to the 1520 and 2112 as well. It is the line that feeds the wand, which is where a compact upright does its stair, upholstery and car-interior work.

Compact uprights take their hoses through tight doorway gaps and around furniture legs constantly, and the resulting damage is easy to overlook. A crease that has torn, or a cuff joint that has split, lets air escape without slowing the floor head at all, so the giveaway is usually attachments that feel weaker than they should, or a thin whistle that appears only when the hose bends a certain way. A machine that still picks up dirt well from bare floor but struggles noticeably on stairs or upholstery is showing exactly this pattern.

Rule the hose out before blaming an attachment that seems to have gone weak, since a leak along this line costs the tool at the far end far more than it costs the floor head, which is not drawing through the hose at all. Flexing the hose by hand while the machine runs, section by section, will usually locate the fault faster than swapping tools to test.

Both ends snap into place. Push each one until it clicks fully home, since a cuff that only feels seated will leak just as much as one that is torn.
