This foam secondary filter (Part #8175139) is a genuine OEM replacement for the Kenmore 125.81615910 canister and related models, also cataloged as part #46-2307-02. It sits before the motor and traps dust and debris that pass the primary filtration.
A foam filter that has torn, compressed, or clogged lets grit reach the motor and restricts the airflow the motor depends on. Keeping a clean secondary filter in place protects the motor and holds suction. Never run the vacuum without this filter fitted.
