This genuine OEM Kenmore lead wire assembly (Part #591028103) carries power from the canister through the wand to the power nozzle motor on the Kenmore 81214 and 81414. It is also listed as part #47-5705-02. The cord is what keeps the brush roll spinning during use.
When the brush roll goes still while the main motor keeps running, a broken conductor inside this lead wire is a common cause. Constant flexing and pinching at the joints eventually fatigues the wire until it fails, cutting power to the nozzle. A fresh assembly restores that path and revives the brush.
