Kirby's own direction is to place several drops on the vacuum's disposable filter bag, which freshens the bag and the room together while you vacuum rather than only masking the air for an hour afterward. The same drops go into garbage cans and indoor trash containers to work on the odor at its source, and into shoes that have gone stale.
