Part 116073 is the front motor bearing used across nearly the whole modern Kirby line: from the Classic Omega 1CB and Tradition through the Generation 3, G4, G5 and G6, on to the Ultimate G, Diamond Edition, Sentria and Sentria II, and the Avalir, Avalir 2 and Avalir Platinum.
Bearings give plenty of warning. A dry front bearing sets up a growl or a high whine that rises with motor speed, the machine starts vibrating through the handle, and the motor runs hotter than it used to. Ignore it and the shaft can wander enough to damage the fan and the armature, both far dearer than the bearing.
Replacing it means opening the motor, so this is a job for someone who has done it before or for a service shop.
