This is the Kirby power drive belt, part 554189S, and the distinction worth knowing is that it drives the transmission rather than the brush roll. The geared belt meshes with the drive pulley, so its tooth profile has to match exactly; a smooth brush-roll belt will not stand in for it.
Supplied one belt to a pack. A tired drive belt shows itself as a self-propel that has gone lazy. The machine walks forward more slowly than it used to, hesitates before it engages, or gives up entirely on thick carpet while the brush roll keeps turning as normal. Glazing, cracking and missing teeth are all obvious once the belt is out.
It fits the Kirby Generation series: Generation 3, G4, G5, G6, Ultimate G and Diamond Edition. It is also catalogued as PD-554189.
