Part 673706 is the rear cover for the handle fork on a Kirby Sentria, and the lower cord hook comes as part of it. It closes off the back of the fork and gives you the bottom half of the cord wrap.
The hook is what usually fails first, because it carries the weight of a wound cord and gets levered on every time someone throws the cord off in a hurry rather than unwinding it. Once the hook snaps or the cover cracks around it, the cord has nowhere to sit and ends up trailing - which is how cords get run over, kinked and eventually cut through.
Fitting the cover puts the cord wrap back in one piece and tidies the back of the machine. It is specific to the Sentria upright.
