The portable handle assembly for the Kirby Generation 3 upright, part 201301, also listed for the Ultimate G. It is the carry handle used to lift the machine and move it as a portable unit.
Kirbys are heavy, and the handle is where all of that weight passes through a single molding every time the machine goes up a flight of stairs. They crack at the mounting points long before they break in the middle, and the warning is a handle that has started to flex or click under load. Ignore it and the machine gets dropped, which is a far more expensive afternoon.
Fitting the replacement is straightforward. Check the fasteners underneath while you are in there, because a loose mount is often what cracked the original.
