This is the renovator tray for the Kirby Sentria II, part 304712S, the genuine Kirby part and specific to the Sentria 2 rather than the original Sentria.
The tray is the structural base of the Rug Renovator attachment. It takes the machine's weight through the shampoo assembly and is dragged across carpet for the length of every job, so it is the part of the kit that cracks first. Once it does, solution escapes at the split and the attachment stops sitting square to the floor, which shows up as wet patches in some places and dry carpet in others.
Fitment is the Sentria II. If your machine is the earlier Sentria it takes a different tray, so confirm which one you have. A sound tray puts the shampoo system back to proper contact with the carpet.
