This is the shampoo tank unit for the Kirby Generation 6, part 306714, and it also fits the Avalir. It holds the carpet cleaning solution and feeds it to the shampoo attachment while you work.
Solution tanks lead a hard life. They get filled, drained and knocked about, and dried shampoo builds up inside the outlet whenever the tank goes back in the cupboard wet. The failures follow from that: a crack that weeps down the side of the machine, a cap that no longer seals, or a feed narrowed to a trickle by residue.
Fitment is the Kirby Generation 6 and the Avalir. Rinse the tank with clean water after each job and store it dry; it is the simplest thing you can do to keep the feed clear.
