Kirby's snap-style mini em-tor, part 188814, is the bag housing used on the Avalir, Avalir 2 and Avalir Platinum. The snap design is the later of the two Kirby fitting styles: the em-tor clips into position rather than being held by the older arrangement, which makes bag changes faster but also means the snap features themselves are what break.
A cracked snap or a split housing stops the em-tor sitting square, and once it is not square it is not sealed. That shows up as dust inside the outer cloth bag, a bag that will not seat cleanly, and suction that has quietly dropped away.
If you are replacing this because the old one broke at the snap, check the fill tube at the same time. The two are handled together at every bag change and tend to have taken the same abuse.
