Most cord failures happen in the last two inches — right where the cord enters the machine and gets bent sharply thousands of times. A strain relief ferrule is the small sleeve that grips the cord at that entry point and spreads the bending stress along its length, and replacing a cracked or missing one is far cheaper than replacing the whole cord it protects. This large-size ferrule suits the thicker-gauge cords found on commercial vacuums and floor machines. If you're already fitting a new cord, install fresh strain relief at the same time and the repair will last. Part #536.
