Part 18-3302-07 is the left-hand geared belt for the Bissell 8920 ProHeat 2X. The 2X splits brush drive between two belts, and this one covers the left side only, so ordering by side matters as much as ordering by model.

A geared belt resists stretch, but it still ages. The rubber hardens, a crack opens between teeth, and once a tooth tears out the belt skips on the gear with a distinct ratcheting or grinding sound. Before it gets that far you will often see the symptom on the carpet first: one half of the cleaning path comes up noticeably better than the other, because only one side of the brush is still turning properly.

If the right-hand belt is original and of the same age, it is worth doing both at once. Seat the new belt fully so the teeth mesh cleanly rather than riding half on the gear.
