Lindhaus builds the PB14e DCS as the wider of its mains-powered electric power nozzles for central vacuum systems. Its brush roller runs off a 150 watt motor rather than being turned by air moving past it, which is the difference between a head that agitates carpet pile and a floor tool that only lifts what is sitting on top of it.
In its central-system configuration Lindhaus publishes a 15 in vacuum working width and a 13.8 in brush width, with the brush turning at 5000 rpm. Standard on the nozzle are electronic overload control, double insulation, a cogged drive belt, adjustable brush pressure and tool-free brush roller removal. The wider head covers more ground on open carpet than the 12 in version does, trading away some agility around furniture legs and in narrow hallways.
The DCS in the name is Lindhaus's patented Dry Cleaning System: a crystallizing product is brushed down into the fibers, left about 30 to 60 minutes to dry, and the residue that forms is then vacuumed off with the same nozzle.
