SEBO Handle Catch Lock Pin ...

Product details
Handle catches wear, and the pin they turn on wears with them, so a shop that sees a steady flow of older SEBO uprights goes through these. Part 0187ER is ten of the 4 x 33.5 lock pins for the AUTOMATIC X1 and AUTOMATIC X2 and the ESSENTIAL G1 and ESSENTIAL G2 — the same pin sold individually as 0187.
The pin carries the entire load of the catch mechanism each time the handle is released and locked again, and it is the only part of that joint in constant motion. A worn one announces itself as slop in the handle, a latch that needs coaxing, or a machine that will not hold its reclined angle while it is being used under furniture. Since the fault develops gradually, most owners adjust their technique around it for months before mentioning it at all. By the time it is described as a fault, the pin has usually worn a visible flat where it bears, and the bore it turns in has taken some of that wear with it.
The economics favour buying in tens. The part is inexpensive, the labour is all in getting the catch apart, and fitting a new pin whenever that housing is open is cheaper than doing the same strip-down twice. Ten covers a run of machines without a reorder. It is a fair assumption that any AUTOMATIC X1, AUTOMATIC X2, ESSENTIAL G1 or ESSENTIAL G2 coming in for a handle complaint will need one.
