Sold as a kit rather than a single molding, 50221HGER covers the light gray locking latch on the SEBO 300 Mechanical and the SEBO 350 Mechanical plus the small parts that go with it: a lock pin, a spring, and the screw that holds it down. The latch is the positive lock that keeps its cover seated while the machine is working.
Latch failures rarely announce themselves. The spring softens, the pin wears an oval into its seat, and the cover begins to sit very slightly proud long before it finally springs open on its own. In the meantime the cover rattles at speed and the joint it is supposed to close stops being airtight. Renewing all four pieces at once is the only way to be certain the wear has actually come out of the mechanism, which is why SEBO supplies them together rather than as a bare latch.
These uprights use several separate closures, so it is worth identifying the right one before ordering. Filter safety catch 50205ER is the assembly that clamps the filter cover, orange bag lever 50122OR and return spring 50124ER work the bag compartment, and catch pedal 50331HG is the foot-operated catch that releases the upright body.
