Position 19 on SEBO's FELIX parts drawing is the lower housing, and 7173SE is the black one, the shell fitted to machines in the Onyx finish. It forms the underside of the vacuum body: the moulding that wraps the motor compartment, carries the screw bosses the upper body pulls down onto, and presents the mating face for the power head neck.
A cracked lower housing is rarely diagnosed on sight. What owners notice is a machine that has become noisier at the base, a new vibration through the handle, and suction that is a shade weaker than it was, with a fresh bag and clean filters ruling out the usual causes. The reason is that this shell is doing two jobs at once, holding the assembly rigid and keeping the air path sealed, so a fracture at one mounting point costs a little of both.
