Listed for the Miele SEB 234 and SEB 236 Electro Premium powerbrushes, this is the powerhead roller brush sold under SKU 5812012.

The roller brush is the motorized bar that spins against carpet pile to lift out embedded dirt and pet hair. Bristles wear down with normal use, and a flattened roller no longer digs into carpet pile with the same bite it had new, even though the motor driving it may still run perfectly well.

Hair and thread wrapped around the ends of a roller can also mimic worn bristles by slowing the spin and reducing pickup, so it is worth clearing anything tangled around the roller before deciding the brush itself needs replacing.
