This is the end bell from an Ametek Lamb 706 or 757 series late bypass motor - the commutator housing and bearing bracket, part 22659. It shields the brushes and commutator behind it and holds the bearing that locates one end of the armature shaft.

Brackets are usually replaced during a rebuild, alongside brushes. If the housing is cracked, dust reaches the commutator and brush faces where it acts as an abrasive. If the bearing seat is worn or the bracket has distorted, the armature no longer runs true, and the motor gets noisy and loses efficiency long before it fails outright.

This is a replacement bracket for late bypass 706 and 757 motors specifically. Ametek used several bracket variants across the range, so check your motor's series and generation before ordering.
