Motor cover for the Hoover SteamVac, part 517497001, listed for the Platinum SteamVac F8100.

On a carpet washer the motor cover has a harder job than the equivalent part on a dry vacuum, because water is part of the machine's working life. The cover keeps splash, damp and grit out of the motor compartment. Crack it, or leave it off after a repair, and the one thing in the machine you cannot afford to get wet is the one thing left exposed.

It snaps back over the compartment. Press it down until it seats fully all the way round rather than leaving it perched on a single clip. Check your SteamVac model before ordering, as covers differ across the range.
