Rubber hardens with heat, and the seal around the motor support is one of the first items in an upright to go stiff. SEBO part 52013 is the Domel motor support seal used on the AUTOMATIC X7 Premium, AUTOMATIC X7 Pet and AUTOMATIC X8, sitting where the motor housing meets its support and keeping that joint airtight. The exploded diagram for the AUTOMATIC X7/X8 puts it at position 108, immediately alongside the motor itself.
Once the seal splits or takes a permanent set, air finds the shortest way into the motor rather than the route the design intended. Suction falls off at the nozzle while the motor still sounds perfectly healthy, which is what makes this fault so easy to misdiagnose as a tired motor or a blocked hose. A fresh seal closes the gap and the machine draws through the bag again as it should. Because the part is buried, it is standard practice to renew it whenever the motor is disturbed for any reason — a hardened seal will not reseat once it has been unbolted.
