Product details

The NaceCare Numatic Charles CVC370-2 is a wet/dry canister vacuum, built to switch between everyday dry pickup and liquid pickup on the same machine rather than requiring a separate shop vac for spills. Charles shares its canister-and-hose layout with the rest of the Numatic family, but the internals are set up specifically for the two-mode job. NaceCare lists a 4 gallon wet capacity for the tank, with dry pickup running through a roughly 2.5 gallon bag and filter stack instead of the open drum.

Moving between dry and wet duty is a deliberate change on this style of machine, not an automatic one: the dry filter and bag path are not meant to be run wet, so switching modes means fitting the correct wet-mode setup before vacuuming liquid, then drying the tank fully before returning to dry pickup. Skipping that step is the single most common way a wet/dry canister gets damaged.

Because it is asked to handle standing water and flooded floors as well as routine dust, a wet/dry canister like Charles tends to see harder use than a dry-only machine, and the ball float that shuts off suction when the tank is full is worth checking periodically, since a stuck float is what lets water reach the motor.

A wet/dry canister earns its place alongside a regular household vacuum rather than replacing it, since day-to-day dust and debris pickup is still what a dry-mode canister does best. Charles is the machine to reach for specifically when the job involves standing water, a flooded appliance area, or a spill too large for towels, situations a dry-only canister simply is not built to handle.
