Returns & Exchanges

Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.

Nail-on safety plates protect central vacuum pipe where it runs through wall studs and floor joists. MD sells them as part 550, and publishes the plate size as 1-1/2 by 5 inches with 100 plates per box. Each one is hammered onto the framing directly over the spot the pipe passes through, before drywall or flooring goes back on.

The reasoning is simple. Once a stud is drilled for pipe, anyone driving a screw or nail into that same stud later, for baseboard, trim, or a shelf bracket, has no way of knowing a vacuum line sits behind it. MD describes the plate's job in exactly those terms: it keeps screws and nails from penetrating into the pipe.
