Nutone Central Vacuum Flexi...

Product details
A central vacuum trunk line stays rigid everywhere except the one spot it has to flex, and on a Nutone system that flex point is usually this 36-inch section, part CF367. It most often connects the rigid pipe to the power unit itself, where a solid elbow would not leave the installer enough room to maneuver in a tight utility space.
This tubing is listed for the Nutone 1201. Unlike a burst pipe, a failing length of flexible tubing rarely announces itself. It stiffens with age, cracks open at a bend point, or tears where a clamp has been biting into it for years, and the only clue is a system-wide drop in suction, weaker pull at every inlet in the house, while the power unit itself still sounds completely normal.
Rule out the bag and filters first. If those check out clean and suction is still down across the board, inspect the flexible sections near the power unit before opening up any walls elsewhere in the house. A cracked length here hides out of sight, tucked behind or beneath the unit, and is easy to overlook until you actually reach in and flex it by hand.
- Part: CF367
- Fits: Nutone 1201
- Length: 36 inches
- Construction: flexible tubing, typically used at the power unit connection
Replace the section as soon as it shows a split or a hardened, brittle feel, since a leak this close to the power unit affects suction at every inlet on the system rather than just one station. Flex the old piece gently by hand before removing it; if it cracks rather than bending, that confirms it was overdue for replacement. Keep the clamps from the old section if they are still sound, since the new length reuses the same style of connection at both ends.
