Product details
Part CF361 is the mounting bracket that anchors a Nutone wall inlet in the wall, sold with the screws it needs so the inlet can be re-hung without a trip back to the hardware aisle. It is listed for the Nutone 0618 inlet.
Brackets reach the end of their service for a couple of familiar reasons. The original cracks around a fastener point after years of hose insertions flexing the inlet, or it goes missing during a remodel and there is nothing left to hang the inlet on. Either way the inlet starts to move: the cover no longer sits flush, the hose connection rocks when you plug in, and the joint around the flange begins to leak air. A central vacuum system loses suction at every point where air sneaks past a seal, so a loose inlet is not a cosmetic problem, it is a suction problem that gets worse the longer it sits.
Because the screws ship with the bracket, the repair goes in as a single unit rather than a bracket plus a search for matching hardware. Hold the new bracket against the old mounting pattern before cutting into the wall, and set the inlet flush against the surface once the screws are seated so the door closes evenly on all sides.
Take a moment to inspect the wall box itself while the bracket is out. A cracked or waterlogged box undermines even a fresh bracket, and it is far easier to address while the wall is already open than to discover it after everything is buttoned back up. Snug the mounting screws firmly but stop short of overtightening, since the material around a fastener can crack under too much torque just as easily as it can from age.
