Product details

Twelve-inch black stripping pad for the Oreck Orbiter floor machine, including the 550MC. Part 400112.

Black is the most aggressive pad in the standard colour range and it exists for one job: taking old wax and heavy finish off a hard floor, with stripper, before recoating. It is not a pad for routine cleaning, and run dry on a finished floor it will take the shine with it.

Stripping pads wear out faster than any other type because they work against dissolved finish. The abrasive glazes over, the pad packs with softened wax, and it starts pushing slurry around instead of cutting through it. The symptom is a floor that looks streaked and patchy after a pass, and operators who keep going usually end up doing the section twice. Flip the pad, rinse it, and once both faces glaze, replace it. It mounts on the Orbiter's drive block.
