Part 430001009 is the drive belt built for the Oreck U2000RB-1 and U2000RB2L-1 commercial uprights, and the same belt covers the UK30100PC. This single loop is what carries power off the motor and onto the brush roll, so once it fails nothing else in the machine can pick up the slack.
Belts expand slightly as they warm and contract again once the machine cools, and a belt that has stretched past its limit slips rather than breaking cleanly. The roller loses speed under load, then quits turning entirely once carpet resistance climbs, even though the motor keeps running at full noise. A user notices a machine that sounds fine and moves air but stops pulling debris out of the pile, and the giveaway smell once a slipping belt is riding a stalled roller is scorched rubber.
Cut away any hair or thread wrapped at both roller ends before the new belt goes on. Even a small amount of drag at one bearing will glaze a brand-new belt the same way it wore through the old one, so clearing the roller first protects the part you just installed.
Installation is simple with the base plate removed. Hook the belt over the motor shaft before stretching it onto the brush roll, since trying to loop both ends on at once is the easiest way to leave it twisted. Spin the roller by hand before closing the plate to confirm it moves freely at both bearings, and check that the loop rides centered on the pulley rather than pulled toward one side.
