This belt connects the clutch assembly to the brush roller, and the grooved design prevents slipping that flat belts are prone to under heavy commercial use. When this belt stretches or breaks, the brush roller stops spinning and your vacuum just pushes dirt around instead of picking it up. A quick belt change gets you back to effective carpet cleaning.
