Inside the head the board handles the electrical side of brush operation, so its failures look electrical rather than mechanical: no response at all when the head should come on, operation that comes and goes as the machine is moved or the cable is flexed, or a roller that runs only intermittently while the suction motor carries on exactly as normal. Mechanical complaints such as a slipping belt, a stiff roller or a brush strip worn flat come from somewhere else entirely and should be eliminated first, because they are cheaper and quicker to check.

Before ordering a SEBO ET-C board replacement it is worth working through the switch lever, the micro switch and its support, and the head wiring, since any one of those can produce the same intermittent behaviour.
