Part AMC70QCRE0VP is the release pedal at the neck of the Panasonic MC-CG887 power nozzle. Step on it and the neck unlocks so the wand can drop back and pivot; let it go and the nozzle stands upright again.
Pedals break because they are stepped on, often with a hard shoe and often at an angle. A cracked one either stops holding, so the wand will not stand up and falls away from you whenever you let go, or it jams the neck upright, at which point you cannot get the nozzle under a bed or a sofa at all. People tend to force it at that stage, which is how a cheap pedal turns into a damaged neck joint.
The new pedal fits at the neck in place of the original. Check that yours is the MC-CG887 nozzle before ordering.
