The black six-foot pigtail repair kit for Plastiflex central vacuum hoses, part SH400-R01.
A pigtail is the curly lead at the machine end of a powered central vacuum hose, and it is the part of the system most likely to fail first. Repeated pulling at the inlet fatigues the conductors inside, so the vacuum starts intermittently, cuts out when the hose is moved, or stops responding at the inlet altogether while everything else tests fine.
Since the hose itself is usually in good order when this happens, rebuilding the end is the sensible repair. Match the kit to your hose color and cuff style so the repaired end looks and seats like the original, and this is the black version. Isolate the power unit before you start.
