This is the covered pistol grip end for hose assembly 26-1145-93, listed as part 9230. It is the moulded handle at the working end of the hose - the part your hand is on for the whole time you are cleaning.

Grips crack around the collar where the hose enters and where the tools push in. Once it splits, two things happen at once: it stops being comfortable to hold, and air leaks in at the joint, so every tool on the end of it loses suction no matter how good the rest of the machine is.

Match the 26-1145-93 hose number before ordering, since grips are moulded to a particular hose and cuff and one from another assembly will not seal. Check the cuff at the machine end for cracks at the same time; both ends age together.
