Rounded-off cams are why a setting stops holding where you put it. Part 50367GS supplies the gray black position cams for the SEBO 300 Mechanical and 350 Mechanical: the shaped faces that define the mechanism's set positions and hold it in whichever one you have selected.
Each cam face takes a small hit every time the mechanism is moved, and the load is concentrated on a very small area of plastic. After enough cycles the crisp edges round over, a lobe cracks, or the detent that used to click flattens into a slope. From that point the mechanism skips past the position you wanted, drifts out of it in use, or feels vague and stepless where it should feel positive. Nothing about that is cured by cleaning or adjustment, because the shape that created the detent has been worn away. New cams put the step-and-hold feel back the way the machine had it when it was built.
