Dark blue examples of the AUTOMATIC X5 take 5796AM when the top of the cleaning head has been damaged. The number covers a complete power head cover: the moulded shell that closes over the brush chamber, holds the two sides of the nozzle in line with each other and gives the front trim something to clip into.
Damage here is impact rather than age. A cleaning head works at ankle height, where thresholds, stair nosings and furniture feet all reach it, and the shell is what arrives first. Once a fixing point has sheared or the plastic has opened along a crack, the head chatters across hard flooring, the trim stands proud at one edge and dust begins to collect in the split. Rigidity goes at the same time, and the bearing blocks and roller notice that long before the owner does. Fitting a new assembly restores the structure and the finish together.
