One molded cap stands between the switch mechanism and everything the machine sweeps up. Part 50306OR is that cap in orange for the SEBO 300 Mechanical and the SEBO 350 Mechanical, the surface pressed to start and stop the vacuum.
Two things follow once the button splits or starts to bind in its aperture. Switching becomes a matter of pressing twice and hoping, and grit begins working its way down onto the switch body underneath, where putting things right becomes a much bigger job. A cap that has sunk below the surrounding panel, or one that stays down after a press, is already letting debris past. Fitting a fresh cap brings back a clean, definite press and closes the opening up again before anything gets into it.
