A 25 amp, 120 volt relay for the Powr-Flite Pulsar range of carpet extractors, part 71379A. A relay is the switched contact that lets a low-current control circuit start and stop a high-draw load such as a vacuum motor or a solution pump.
Relay failure has a recognisable signature. The switch clicks but the motor does not come up, or a function works intermittently and gets worse as the machine warms. Contacts pit over thousands of cycles, and on a machine that runs daily that is service life rather than a fault.
