PDF6WRD is Powr-Flite's F6, a dryer built for downdraft use: its airflow is aimed straight down onto whatever sits beneath the unit rather than blown out across a room. That is the pattern a restoration crew wants when the drying needs to happen right under the equipment, not several feet off to one side.
A 6-blade, precision-pitched fan rated at 3,500 CFM does the work, directed through 360 degrees so the unit does not need to be aimed the way a straight-line fan does. A 1/4 hp motor with two speed settings runs it, and it draws power through a 20 ft. cord.
Powr-Flite gives the housing as roto-molded polyethylene and backs it with a 10 year housing warranty, well beyond the 1 year it puts on parts and labor for the same unit. Heavy-duty casters, a telescoping handle and a stackable shape are built in for moving several units around a restoration job and storing them stacked when a bank of dryers is needed side by side, which comes up often on a large drying job where several units run at once in the same room.
